Description
Welcome to Acorn Court Care Home
At Acorn Court we do things a little differently than most other care homes. We believe this is your home and we would like you to treat it exactly like home. There are no fixed visiting hours so friends and family can come and see you as usual.
Our residents decide what to do and when to do it, just as they would at home, and when some help, support and care is needed, that's fine too. Acorn Court is a new purpose-built care home registered for 86 elderly residents and offers nursing, residential and dementia care.
Acorn Court has been beautifully decorated and furnished to the very highest standard. Each floor has been individually designed to create a high quality luxury home from home.
At Acorn Court we have our own consultant doctor who is on hand to assist with any medical advice and attention when required. Alternatively, residents may choose to have their own doctor visit them.
A Team That Cares
The homely feel at Acorn Court is nurtured by our staff. Our team have been carefully selected not only for their professional ability, but also because of their dedication and commitment to making a difference by helping everyone in the home to have a happy and fulfilling life.
Our team of registered nurses and carers provide 24 hour, round-the-clock care and support for each resident according to their individual needs.
We look beyond age and see a lifetime of experience, knowledge and memories which can be shared and cherished within the community of Acorn Court.
Dementia
At Acorn Court we have a dedicated floor for older people who are living with the experience of dementia and a team of staff who are very experienced in helping residents get the most out of life and feel totally at home in a warm, understanding, safe and caring environment. We are highly skilled in caring for older people living with the experience of dementia and helping them to feel safe, happy and part of the community at Acorn Court.
Making it Your Home
The key to our success at Acorn Court is that everyone feels at home. We encourage you to bring your own reminders of home, such as small pieces of furniture, pictures, ornaments and other special mementos. You will have your own bedroom with en suite facilities, or you may wish to share one of our companion room's with a close friend or family member.
To ensure constant peace of mind, there is a nurse call system in each bedroom, bathroom and lounge through which residents can call for assistance anytime.
At Acorn Court we have our own consultant GP who is on call to assist with any medical advice and attention when required. An optician and chiropodist also make regular visits.
On arrival at Acorn Court, we will introduce you to a key member of staff and a long-standing resident, to assist you during the 'settling in' period. Also, you are invited to hold a tea party. This is an opportunity to invite family and friends to see your new home - rather like a house warming.
