Description
Springfield Care Home
is located in the picturesque coastal village of Emsworth in Hampshire. It is conveniently located to nearby amenities and transport links, and only a short stroll from the seafront at Chichester harbour, an area of outstanding natural beauty.
Springfield is a private Care Home. It is staffed by nurses and health care workers day and night, supported by an enthusiastic and friendly auxiliary team. The Home is fully equipped to care for people seeking short term respite care and long term nursing or residential care. Fees are inclusive, with very few extras (e.g. newspapers, hairdressing, chiropody.)
About Springfield
Established in 1972, our main aim is to make Springfield feel a home from home. Moving into a care home can be an anxious time for both residents and their families alike. With this in mind, our emphasis is always on maintaining the highest standards of care and comfort in a way that meets your personal needs.
Friendly and Welcoming
We want you to feel very much at home and therefore we do our utmost to keep rules and regulations to a minimum. Friends and family are welcome to visit at any time without restriction.
Help and companionship is always on hand. The homely atmosphere we have created at Springfield ensures that everyone continues their daily life with personal privacy and dignity. As senior citizens with a lifetime and wealth of experience, you can expect to be treated with the respect you have earned.
Our Aims
A full and active lifestyle is encouraged with freedom for you to decide upon your own daily routine wherever possible. As one of our residents, you are encouraged to continue your own hobbies and pastimes and to participate in our wide and varied programme of activities. We also have regular outings to local beauty spots and country pubs and participate wherever possible in local community events.
Cuisine
With a great choice of delicious and wholesome dishes on offer, our meal times are popular occasions. Meals are prepared daily using fresh produce by our experienced in house catering team.
You may choose to eat amongst friends in one of our comfortable dining rooms or to dine alone in your own room. There is always a varied menu choice providing a balanced and nutritious diet. Special dietary needs can also be catered for.
Putting your Needs First
We provide access to a variety of services and facilities including hairdressing, chiropodist, dentist, optician, physiotherapist and alternative therapy. Pastoral care is also on hand. Our Manager will be happy to help organise any additional services you may require.
Our Facilities
We fully recognise there is no substitute to being cared for in your own home. Whilst all of our rooms are tastefully decorated with luxury fittings and furnishings, there’s nothing as comforting as being surrounded by your own possessions. You are therefore encouraged to personalise your bedroom with photographs, pictures, ornaments and small pieces of furniture in order to create a familiar environment.
Who we care for
We provide 24 hour nursing and residential care to ladies and gentlemen aged 65 years and over. Springfield has two adjacent buildings (known as Houses 72 and 74), but is registered as one care home for 61 residents.
House 74 has 21 single bedrooms with 2 shared bedrooms. House 72 has 30 single bedrooms with 3 shared bedrooms. Most bedrooms have en-suite facilities. There is a phone and television point in each room.
Each House has a large and comfortable lounge, separate dining areas and both are well furnished. We also have an activities room. There is an in-house laundry.
There are two secluded gardens, both with patio areas, which are lovingly tended by our gardener. Residents are encouraged to give input, help and advice.
There are regular resident and relative meetings held and we encourage feedback about the quality of our service continuously. Relatives are invited to meet with staff and review individual residents’ care needs.
Types of Stay
At Springfield we offer care to suit individual needs. Long term care for those who need daily nursing, perhaps due to age or an on-going medical condition; respite care to enable carers to take a much deserved break; convalescent or post-operative care for those recovering from accident, illness or operation. Many of our residents come and stay for a few days initially to see whether they like us.
See For Yourself
Finding the right care home can be a difficult task. Whether you are looking for yourself or helping a friend or relative in their search, there are many questions to be answered. We therefore encourage you to come and see for yourself so that you have the opportunity to chat with staff and residents and get a feel for the character of the Home.
What Sets us Apart?
At Springfield, we encourage a full and active lifestyle where each of our residents is helped to exercise choice in all aspects of their care.
We have been awarded with two national quality awards – Investors in People and ISO 9001. These recognise our commitment to a well trained and disciplined staff and to a structured management philosophy.
Springfield is registered with the Commission for Social Care Inspection (CSCI). A copy of the most recent inspection report is available upon request.
