Description
Welcome to
Rushymead Residential Care Home
We are committed to providing our residents with the appropriate care to suit their needs within a friendly and secure environment
Accommodation
Rushymead stands in 7 acres of private grounds and enjoys wonderful views over the Chilterns. The house provides a high standard of accommodation for up to 28 residents. The property is divided into 3 self contained floors, each with a lounge and dining room.
Rushymead is a registered care home and, as such, complies with all the regulations of the Care Standards Act. We are regularly inspected and the reports are available in the reception.
There are 27 single occupancy rooms and a double room for married couples or partners. Many rooms have ensuite facilities and all our rooms have personal washing facilities. Rushymead is able to offer respite for clients.
A month's trial period is normal when residents first join us. This allows an individual care plan to be agreed and the new resident to decide if we provide what they are looking for in the long term.
Our Staff
We employ dedicated and well trained staff to deliver the care package in the overall control of our registered Home Manager.
A duty manager and two care staff are available throughout the night.
Our care staff are encouraged to undertake the National Vocational Qualification (level II) in Care and may go on to study to levels III and IV.
External courses are undertaken in subjects such as First Aid, Medical Emergency, Safe Moving and Handling of Patients and care of the Elderly. All our senior care staff are qualified in First Aid. Our Care Manager is a Registered General Nurse.
Our care staff rely on the skilled group of support staff, including cooks, domestics and laundry personnel, to enhance the quality of life of our residents.
Services
A small trolley shop is brought around to allow residents to purchase popular items such as toothpaste or bubble bath. A visit by a private dentist can be arranged. A chiropodist comes every 6-8 weeks. We also have an alternative therapist who visits once every two weeks and offers various treatments, including hand & foot massage. The hairdresser visits once a week.
A telephone is available for resident's use, or a private line can be installed in the resident's room.
We currently have vacancies at our home
